This rollable test stand allows profund studies on all influencing quantities in heat exhanging systems. It demonstrates the characteristics of four different types of heat exchangers: It enables counter-, parallel- and cross-flow connection. It uses water, air and steam. The electronic control system provides defined hot and cold water flow.

 
Installed heat exchangers:
  • Koaxial heat exchanger A
  • Plates heat exchanger B
  • Tubebundle heat exchanger C
  • Ribbed radiator water-air heat exchanger D

Koaxial- HE is equipped with 4 additional temperaturesensors on its primary- and secondary side

enables counter-, parallel- and cross-flow connection and different flowrates of water and air . HE D is for exchange to air. The HE have similar exchange areas of 0,22 ..0,28 m²

Heattransmission/Isolation

The unit is made for the practical test of heat isolating properties of different construction materials in the building technique. The unit provides different temperatures (athmospheres) at both sides of the testobject. The heating and cooling power for the stabilization of a temperature difference are measured. The temperature-difference is adjustable to deep minus temperatures. The outside athmosphere is variably movable.

Heating test cell
This test stand provides profund studies in heating technique: Heat generator using oil and gas distribute heat by mixed cycle, direct cycle, accumulator or recirculation into the consumers. Installed consumers are Floor-heater, radiator-heater and an accumulator with 34 kW power.

Measuring technique:

he measuring devices are digitally connected to the internal controller, sending serial data to the comprised portable PC. Stand control and data acquisition is performed by Windows-software. Measured quantities are:

  • Consumption of gas and oil

Fan and thermic test-stand

The unit is a combination of fan test and heat transfer technics. Heat from circulating hot water is exchanged to an air flow. This provides wide thermodynamical investigations:

  • Radial fan characteristics
  • Radial fan efficiencies
  • Characteristics of a circulating pump
  • Heat exchange efficiencies

Properties:

  • Centrifugal 4-speed waterpump
  • 3-kW electric heater with on/off control
  • Iris air flow restrictor

 

 

Measuring systems:

The measuring devices are digitally connected to the internal controller, sending serial data to the comprised portable PC. Stand control and data acquisition is performed by Windows-software. Measured quantities are:

  • Torque and speed of the motor
  • Water flow-rate
  • Pressures
  • Pitot static tube in the air duct for pressures and flowrate measurement
